As many of you know, I work for the Department of Energy's Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. For work, I contribute articles to the Energy Savers Blog, a blog that focuses on how consumers can save energy and use renewable energy. To that end, I read other people's posts just to see what they're writing about. Much to my surprise yesterday, I noticed that our fellow Transitionite (is there a word for that?) in Greenbelt, Lore Rosenthal, was highlighted
in the blog! She's working with a project in Greenbelt called the Greenbelt Green Neighborhood Challenge. So if you see Lore, tell her congrats and great job on her work!
In addition, it also mentions how you can help out Greenbelt with little effort of your own. If you're considering signing up for renewable energy with Clean Currents, type in "Greener in Greenbelt" in the "How did you hear about us" field. For every person who does this, Clean Currents will donate $15 to the Greenbelt Community Foundation. We should look into establishing a program like this for Ecolocity, but until we do, we might as well support our sister organization!
And of course, I would also love it if you read our
EnergySavers blog, joined our
Facebook group, and gave us feedback. The federal government may look like a giant bureaucracy, but real people work for it and we love to talk to people who are interested in the same eco-nerdy things we are.
