What is your motivation for joining this group?
A group of us are instituting a pilot composting program utilizing the organic waste materials from local restaurants. We are working with Dept. of Parks and Recs for site locations. We would love to network with others who are trying to make DC a green city.
What skills or experience would you share? We need architects, artists, planners, scholars, farmers, web wizards, fundraisers, vintners, vegan chefs, grant writers, carpenters, beekeepers, scientists, dreamers, lobbyists - you get the idea ...
I have gardening and composting experience. I co-chair the Green Committee at my children's school and we have plans to create a school garden and on-site composting program. I volunteer at Washington Youth Garden. I have a lot of time since my businesses are self-sustaining and my kids are in school. Your objectives are also my objectives.

A major objective is to get is to get gardens in all the schools and indeed to teach the curriculum through gardening. It's be great if you could be part of this.

We look forward to your participation in anchoring our vision with your energy and expertise as we seek to live more sustainably and equitably. We plan a wide range of programs and your input will be welcome.

We meet WEEKLY due to the enormity of the challenges and the urgency needed to address the issues that face us - Tuesdays 7 pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street NW, WDC 20001. We've been following a schedule something like this:
1st week - Food & Farming
2nd week - Film
3rd week - Transition
4th week - Community Building Community: Planning & Networking
5th week when there's one - Special guest
