Sustainable McMillan

Historic McMillan Park is threatened with senseless development if concerned activists do nothing to prevent it. A permaculture solution is environmentally, socially and economically sustainable.

20th Anniversary Tiananmen Commemoraton 6/4 @WestLawn USCapitol 10a-2p

Join US in Rememberance and Truth to commemorate the 7,000+ students and civilians who were brutally killed June 4, 1989, 20 years ago, for Human Rights and Democracy and Freedom at Tiananmen Square in Beijing, China, when the Chinese Communist Governement ordered tanks and army to crush 1 Million unarmed peaceful pro-Democracy demonstrators gathered to call for reform against corrupt government practices.

The CCP has never acknowledge this historic event during fall of Berlin Wall and Soviet Union in Eastern Europe. This same repressive governement that practices extreme censorship of Human Rights and genocide against religious and ethinic groups, is still in power and more sophisticated than ever today, being America's 2nd largest trading partner - over 800 Million - that is 2/3 of China and increasing number of people are suffering belowing poverty and ~2Billion peoples - that's 25% of world population still struggling under Communist autocratic dictatorship and terrorist militia regimes, including China's rent states NKorea, Pakistan, Iraq, Burma, Congo, Vietnam, Cuba et al - What will our world look like in the next 20 years??? Urge our world leaders to ACT for Human Rights, Peace and Democracy for those who need our VOICE for Human Rights and Freedom

Come Together June 4 and Join US on the West Lawn of US Capitol 10a-2p to Show The World That America / The Western World Still CARES ABOUT TRUTH FREEDOM AND DEMOCRACY.

"An injustice anywhere....is a threat to Justice everywhere"- Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Let's remember those young citizens who gave their lives for freedom, and continute to build sustainable and resonsible communities, securing truth, freedom and justice for all.

Hi Kim-Ngan, thanks for joining us and honoring us with your presence. Feel free to customize your page, post questions, thoughts, articles, photos, videos, add cool apps, make friends, message privately, join or create groups that reflect your interests.

We look forward to your participation in anchoring our vision with your energy and expertise as we seek to live more sustainably and equitably. We plan a wide range of programs and your input will be welcome.

We meet WEEKLY due to the enormity of the challenges and the urgency needed to address the issues that face us - Tuesdays 7 pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street NW, WDC 20001. We've been following a schedule something like this:
1st week - Food & Farming
2nd week - Transition
3rd week - Film
4th week - Community Building: Planning & Networking
5th week when there's one - Special guest
but any can be trumped by urgent matters arising. For example, we devoted the first meeting in 2009 to building the infrastructure for an alternative local economy based on time banks and/or local currency, such as Anacostia Hours in circulation in Mount Rainier, and we've met at Takoma Village Cohousing for a presentation. See the Events calendar to save dates of what interests you.
