Tuesday, We'll be watching THE FUTURE OF FOOD, a film by Deorah Koons Garcia about the shady relationship between industrial agriculture, big business and government. The film also takes a look at the effects of biotechnology on small farmers to reveal and ever-present truth about genetically modified foods in our food system.
Instead of our usual weekly meeting, Ecolocity will join Greater DC Cares, Sierra Club and Inner City Outings for Happy Hour at Wonderland Ballroom at 1101 Kenyon Ave NW on November 17th from 5-8 pm.There is no entrance fee, and there will be food and drink specials. The focus of this group is sustainable agriculture, urban farming, nutrition, cuisine, slow food and locavory. We'll explore education, technology, production, distribution and marketing. Importantly, we'll find ways to make changes in our own lives.

I have a BS in Environmental Sciences, completed agricultural consultants course from Brookside Farms Laboratory Association, worked on organic farms, can operate analytical and biological testing equipment, have designed anaerobic digesters for poultry & swine farms including methane powered generators, designed commercial wastewater sludge composting systems, created integrated biohumagenic systems which biologically transform waste products into humus to promote life.
