1st Tuesday: Planning for Action Meeting at Emergence Community Arts Collective

For our first Tuesday of the month, we will be Planning for Action. This meeting will focus on two major projects that Ecolocity is working on - Training for Transition (T4T) and gardening/local food workshops supported by a Washington Parks and People grant. At the meeting, we will talk about how to plan these events, including logistics, marketing, publicity and more! Come help us spread the word on sustainability and ready our community for transition to a just, petroleum-independent society.

I believe in localizing our systems: farm, food, currency - our economic systems, in general, much like biodiversity in our ecosystems.
What skills or experience would you share? We need architects, artists, planners, scholars, farmers, web wizards, fundraisers, vintners, vegan chefs, grant writers, carpenters, beekeepers, scientists, dreamers, lobbyists - you get the idea ...
I have a great deal of farming/gardening experience, and gaining experience in grant writing, outreach/advocacy, community organizing, and fundraising.

We look forward to your participation in anchoring our vision with your energy and expertise as we seek to live more sustainably and equitably. We plan a wide range of programs and your input will be welcome.

We meet WEEKLY due to the enormity of the challenges and the urgency needed to address the issues that face us - Tuesdays 7 pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street NW, WDC 20001. We've been following a schedule something like this:
1st week - Food & Farming
2nd week - Transition
3rd week - Film
4th week - Community Building Community: Planning & Networking
