1st Tuesday: Planning for Action Meeting at Emergence Community Arts Collective
August 3, 2010 from 7pm to 9pm
For our first Tuesday of the month, we will be Planning for Action. This meeting will focus on two major projects that Ecolocity is working on - Training for Transition (T4T) and gardening/local food workshops supported by a Washington Parks and People grant. At the meeting, we will talk about how to plan these events, including logistics, marketing, publicity and more! Come help us spread the word on sustainability and ready our community for transition to a just, petroleum-independent society.

During the 4th Tuesday meeting, we discuss organizational issues. This Tuesday, we will consider a proposal made to change Ecolocity's format from meeting once a week to twice a month. One of these meetings would be a planning meeting and the other would be a "working" meeting. The working meeting could consist of working in the ECAC garden, building a display for an upcoming event, or holding an event, such as a community swap or movie night. We meet WEEKLY due to the enormity of the challenges and the urgency needed to address the issues that face us - Tuesdays 7 pm at Emergence Community Arts Collective, 733 Euclid Street NW, WDC 20001. We've been following a schedule something like this:
1st week - Food & Farming
2nd week - Film
3rd week - Transition
4th week - Community Building Community: Planning & Networking
5th week when there's one - Special guest
