Permaculture Design Certification Course August 18-30, 2011 Sundays off
Students will design a food forest, terracing pools and botanical sanctuaries for this woodlands site in Victoria, VA. Comprehensive curriculum focuses on design principles and problem solving for temperate climate zones. Instructors have over 20 years experience living and practicing permaculture practices. Learn to prevent run-off from your yard with rain water gardens and create regenerating designs with tree guilds and other polycultures. Demonstration gardens will be constructed and field trips are included in the registration. You may register for a 3 day orientation and those who complete all 72 hours and individual project assignments will receive an internationally recognized Permaculture Design Certificate. Look forward to 11 days of shared inspiration that will reduce your carbon footprint and prosper your permaculture practice!

Comment by Yiming Roberts on October 16, 2011 at 3:13pm Hello all!
I would like to invite you to the event that I am co-hosting: "Being the Change: Civil Disobedience against Keystone XL Pipeline"
Time: October 25, 2011 from 7:30pm to 9pm
Location: St. Elmo's Coffee Pub
Street: 2300 Mount Vernon Ave.
City/Town: Alexandria, VA
1,252 people were recently arrested in front of the White House protesting the Keystone XL Tar Sands Oil Pipeline.
Please join Yiming and Sieren, both Virginia natives, for a multi-media discussion on how the proposed Tar Sands pipeline would negatively impact indigenous groups, forest and wildlife, energy security, water supplies, and the climate. And find out how you can take a stand!
St. Elmo's is located in the Del Rey neighborhood of Alexandria. 15-20 min. walk from Braddock Road Metro (Blue / Yellow lines)
