Many thanks to Ted for doing the paperwork to get us a table at GreenFest!!
So now we need to schedule a meeting in the next couple weeks to start designing/creating the display and associated information. Here are some potential dates for the display meeting (all at 7pm at my house): 2/22, 2/23, 2/24, 2/29, 3/1, 3/2. Please reply with your availability to meet. Also reply if you are able to help staff the table on April 14th.
Thanks!

Permalink Reply by Laura Mueller on February 15, 2012 at 12:01pm Hi, Margo,
Tom and I will help staff the table on April 14th. We can make a spreadsheet of time slots for volunteers to cover the day and set-up and take-down times.
We are available for a display meeting at 7 pm at your house on Thur Feb 23; Wed Feb 29; and Thur Mar 1. Fridays Feb 24 and Mar 2 we could get there by 7:30 or so.

Here is a neat online tool for doing volunteer signups, if you want to use this for our GreenFest table:

Permalink Reply by Nancy Fayer on February 28, 2012 at 10:30am Margo and Transitioners,
Here's another publicity opportunity for THC. The Earth Forum of Howard County is keenly interested in helping the TransitionHC grow and expand, especially since Larry Chang spoke on Transition to Sustainability at the Oct. 17, 2010 Earth Forum.
So EF invites THC to bring the exhibit from GreenFest, to the Earth Forum the next afternoon. The April 15 Forum features Delegate James Malone, Jr., Vice Chair of the House Environmental Matters committee. The display would get double exposure and the Forum would enjoy having Transition HC.
Please reply if you are interested in having an information table at the Forum April 15, 1:30 - 3:30 pm.
Regards,
Nancy

Permalink Reply by Nancy Fayer on February 28, 2012 at 11:52am Good Ted, glad to hear you can make it, especially since April 15 is the last Forum until next fall. I'll put Transition HC down for an information table at the April 15 EF.
I know you are familiar with the information table set up at the Forum, but will you let me know who will be staffing the table by Mar. 10? Then I'll send the info letter to that person.
Thanks,
Nancy

Permalink Reply by Margo Duesterhaus on March 1, 2012 at 2:52pm All,
We had a very productive meeting last night. The notes are attached. We will have our next meeting on March 9th at 7pm at my house. Everyone is welcome even if you didn't make it to last night's meeting.
We are planning to have the THC table at the "Observations from Space" forums at HCC on March 21 and March 24 so if you are available to table at either of those events, please let us know.
Thanks!

Permalink Reply by Margo Duesterhaus on March 2, 2012 at 10:05am For the display board, I thought it would be cool to have images that are not only of solutions, but that are of local solutions. So in the attached file I started gathering some potential pictures for the 8 areas that we identified. These are just a start to hopefully get everyone inspired to find better ones.
Thanks!
