I'm so glad you made this group. We'll have to get Luci to join; we may have our a capella group yet :)

Ayende, thank you for the invitation. Thank you for the photos on your page. I am already talking to Tensae of Sankofa Cafe and Brother Bey about a conscious artists group. Oops I am already falling off of the gender balance. I do have six sisters in mind: Elise Bryant, Cashaundra Bacon, Anthea Cooper, Lona Alias, Ximena Camou, Yolanda (Freedome) Lee. Could we meet the first Thursday of October? That is my next free evening.

thanks, yes a meeting would be so nice. You know when I heard Sweet Honey's lil nature song; it sent my mind flying ... we could create and do so much through art but you know already... so yes we'll get this done

Luci, you can invite anyone from the main page or from within a group, like here. If you look at the top right corner of this page you'll see a green plus sign with "Invite more people." Click on that and it'll give you several options to input email addresses, then allow you to attach a short personal message. How cool is that?

I think we should start by defining what our goals are or specifically how we would use art and in what forms to galvanize movement. Primarily a poet, I appreciate and pull from all mediums of expression. So I would say let’s have a poetry workshop or presentation on the subject of nature; some others of you may say let’s do a musical event; or write articles. Whatever expression we champion, we should take the lead by moving away from the ‘leader idol’ and becoming initiators. Remember many are on the sidelines of life waiting for you.

hello all

I''ve yet to hash out any real ideas as to how we should proceed. We have so much we can do with creative arts; perhaps we should at least begin planning to meet either in person or this site (if in person, the weekends are best for me) but let us not be shy any of us can start a variety of ideas. So let's throw out some ideas, plans, and times ...be back with you soon.
