Join Maisie Hughes, Casey Trees Planning and Design Director, for a workshop that covers urban ecology, green design, environmental stewardship, education and community outreach.
You will discuss DC’s urban ecosystem and explore strategies for involving city communities in the regreening process.
The service component includes working with community groups through Casey Trees' Community Tree Planting program, monitoring and maintaining newly planted trees, and serving as a voice in the community to support urban forestry and other green infrastructure issues.
A light supper will be provided that includes vegetarian options.
This module consists of three nights of class on consecutive weeks. You must attend all three classes to complete the course!
