Green Fire Screening - Arlington Central Library

The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) is hosting 3 separate, FREE, screenings of "Green Fire" in March!

Green Fire is the first full-length, high definition documentary film ever made about legendary conservationist Aldo Leopold.  The film explores Aldo Leopold’s life in the early part of the twentieth century and the many ways his land ethic idea continues to be applied all over the world today.  The film was shown in community screening venues across the country throughout 2011, and will then be released on public television in early 2012.

Green Fire: Aldo Leopold and a Land Ethic for Our Time is a production of the Aldo Leopold Foundation, the US Forest Service, and the Center for Humans and Nature.  Although probably best known as the author of the conservation classic A Sand County Almanac, Leopold is also renowned for his work as an educator, philosopher, forester, ecologist, and wilderness advocate. 

The Northern Virginia Conservation Trust (NVCT) has partnered with several environmental groups across Northern Virginia to provide free, public screenings of this wonderful movie.  If you are interested in checking out “Green Fire”, please go to NVCT’s website for information and to RSVP: www.nvct.org.
