Want to help grow food sustainably in DC? Would you like to learn about the forest garden model of planting that creates a bounty of fruit, veggies, nuts, and herbs even in dense urban environments?
Come learn about forest gardens as you help us plant one at the Emergence Community Arts Collective on Saturday, Oct. 22 from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m. We have a comprehensive design created by teams of volunteers, and a great mix of plants -- trees, shrubs, bushes, vines, herbs, flowers, and more.
Help us get our plants in the ground now so they'll be ready to come to life next spring. No experience necessary. Experienced gardeners welcome. Permaculture types especially encouraged to attend.
We also would like to invite a videographer to help us document the process and make our forest garden available online. Can you bring along a video camera and help with editing? No high expectations, but we'd like some videos at the end.
Thanks!
