Capitol Hill Energy Cooperative has helped 25 members complete solar installations -- with a generating capacity that now exceeds 100kW. Many other installations are in the pipeline now. Due to excellent rebates that are available in DC, homeowners can get their initial investment back in 1-4 years -- while also cutting their electric bills in half for the next 20 years! Our members are also implementing efficiency improvements to cut their electric and water bills down even lower - while helping the environment. Please join us this coming Saturday for what promises to be a fun and informative day. Beginning at 10am, more than 30 businesses and local organizations will be on hand at our Fair to give practical information on how to go green and reduce energy costs. Starting at noon, take our Tour of twelve Capitol Hill homes that showcase solar and sustainable features. Join our community event and learn tips and strategies to make your own home more efficient (while saving money).
Come by the Fair to purchase a Tour Book and then head out on our walking tour to visit Solar and Sustainable Homes on Capitol Hill. The Tour Book (which is your ticket) is $5 per family. The 25-page Tour Book includes a map and all the information you need about going solar. In addition to 12 homes, there are also several rain and community gardens noted on the Tour map.
Ecolocity will be tabling at this event. If you'd like to volunteer for a 2-hour shift email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 202-545-0869.
